Maker projects

While my work is often critical of technology, I do frequently utilize custom hardware and software solutions for projects.

I’ve learned a number of ‘maker’ tech skills in order to solve specific artistic problems as well as to educate myself as to what is even technically possible.

The images on the left reflect some of these skills. Most recently, I have been designing circuit boards (with the PCB design software, Eagle) for manufacturing. Some of these utilize the Atmega chip (the heart of the Arduino) or simply interface with an entire Arduino.

I frequently utilize 3D printing and laser cutting to produce panels, boxes, etc. for these projects.

Most importantly, I’ve been running workshops at Mercy College to help students learn basic electronics skills for their own projects.
